If Angel is a memory, then what is she a memory of? The director? Or is she the director's self-insertion?
There's a lot of Christian imagery in the end that represents the Trinity: The Director = The Father (God), Roger = The Son (Jesus), and Angel = The Holy Spirit. After all, Jesus does negotiate on our behalf, does He not?

If Roger Smith had memories beforehand, then surely he once knew of the outside world before The Event occurred in Paradigm City, erased everyone's memories and reset the city (and eventually to a point in time where everything could still be prevented.)
Gordon had to be the one who would constantly reset the city so Roger could succeed in negotiating with the Director. Gordon also would create new tomatoes and implant the memories of other people into them after they forgot about The Event

so what Gordon is saying that 40 years ago during the time when the 3 Bigs were destroying Paradigm City that he hired a Roger Smith to negotiate the director of the show to reset to episode 1 of Big O? and what the hell happen to Vera anyways?
