Again, I love BJJ. I practice it myself. But if we are talking strictly self defense of which I also practice (Krav Maga) we have to be prepared to fight a guy in a t-shirt. And there is no way your going to choke anyone one out w/ just a t-shirt. In self defense you have to practice simple repetitive actions that work in all situations. BJJ is amazingly affective, but amazingly complicated. Self defense has to be the affective and super simple.

@eltiggermalo why not??? the gi resembles clothing, how many times do you get attacked by a butt naked guy? if you have i dont watn to know about it, jeans just like gi pants, hoody just like gi top, you can do the same gi chokes to somebody thats wearing a hoodie, now if there wearing a shirt its still gi top just the shirt might rip, MIGHT, usually just gets stretched but a stretched out shirt is still like gi top. gi is best for self defense, in reality the dudes probably wearing clothes.

Jesus christ, this is not "Ju Jitsu" this is BRAZILIAN JU JITSU - They are totally different things, BJJ came form Japanese Ju Jitsu, which is 100% better and more well rounded.

So sick of "Ju Jitsu" automatically meaning ground fighting and grappling.

@yuenj01 It not only requires the rapist to "Close the distance", it also require him to enter the victim's guard so to speak. I say any rapist no matter the size, hight or strength is going to have a hard time raping a goo female BJJ purple belt or even a high level blue belt.
