@Zovex11 iStopmotion for animation and capture, Gimp for photo editing, Final Cut Express for editing and compositing, and blender for any random cg stuff :)

Wow, that looks quite challenging but looks pretty cool. Another approach might be to let your left hand be just another object that you animate in stop-motion fashion. But then it will be really challenging to hold your hand still enough, and to move it the exact amounts to make its motion look live and not like stop-mo. I'm very intrigued by what you're attempting.

Yes, that is what I've seen many people do. But I actually created this test purely to see how it could turn out if you choose not to do it through stop motion. Well, it seemed to work well enough (so long as I lock exposure next time)
