came across an interesting article in last months 'new internationalist'. it discusses the deglobalization of our planet. it states that nothing should be done centrally that can be done as well as or better at a more local level. for more information visit www.focusweb.org

the cities are alight now. i think we've established that capitalism doesn't work. time to think local. establish that community vegetable garden. make do and mend. create new ways of doing things. learn how our ancestors did things. make sure noone is left out in the cold. teach our children a better way....

@chessdude67 gonna take it down and tweak it a bit. for one thing...you can't read it too well but essentially it means 'think global, shop local' and multinationals had better behave themselves!! lol!! the whole article is really interesting.

we are developing technology that will let us have microfactories and manufacture products locally...things like 3d printers....

@centervilletn cool!!! it is the way forward i think to bring manufacturing back into the local community to sell to that local community where ever possible. hope all is well in your lil corner of this planet. :-)))
