Viggo Mortensen is coming on the Kermode Mayo Review show this week to talk about his new film A Dangerous Method. A while back I said that he was the natural successor to Robert De Niro - do you agree with me?

  • hey why can't we watch Kermode's The Descandants' review?

  • He doesn't deserve such a title. I do believe that he is the best actor working in cinema at the moment, and he speaks multiple languages, as well as painting and writing poetry. He might not have the cult status or fame that Robert de Niro achieved, but don't call Mortensen "The New de Niro" or even "The New Old de Niro" ever again... it is an insult to his talent.

  • i think yes!!! he's such a great an interesting actor! ....Argentina love you Viggo =D

  • "The Indian Runner" is an interesting movie.

  • Viggo is very good but don't see how you can compare him to Deniro?..I always thought Sean Penn was like the new Deniro. Vincent Cassel who's in (Dangerous mind) Look at him in mesrine..Great performance. Also Daniel day Lewis I think is more like a new Deniro...More so the Viggo

  • The difference between them DeNiro loves women and never bother abt controversy unlike Mortensen who loves his privacy. Viggo speaks 5 languages, a poet, photograper and a painter. Speaks fluent spanish, english and danish and understands swedish and norwegian language. I have been living in Denmark for 32 years now and I noticed that whenever Viggo is here spending his holidays and summer vacation, media/fans are leaving him alone and let his privacy be private. They have great respect for him.

  • Christian Bale? Fassbender is really good too.

  • Viggo Mortensen with a beard looks like Animal from The Muppets.

  • @DAandFrank

Fassbender's in so many movies right now, I wonder what's going on. Is he afraid he's not gonna be popular anymore in a few years and tries to strike while the iron's hot?

  • What about chickens?

  • damn right, but given fassbender's performances in the last few years (inglorious basterds, hunger, fish tank, x-men first class, apparently in jane eyre, shame, and a dangerous method - three films i haven't seen but which critical consensus says he's brilliant in - and in the otherwise laughably bad historical fiction miniseries' gunpowder, treason and plot and the devil's whore), the same could be said for him, although not having been aragorn his profile's even lower than mortensen's.

  • @furryhat1 He uses 'makes' in the sense that a movie wouldn't be complete without that actor. Thus, if De Niro was not in the movie, it would have perhaps not have gotten the same recognition and therefore he 'made' that movie what it is.
