Salmon-Safe is a Northwest eco-label program for farms and vineyards that protect the environment. Eggs, wine, produce and other products that display the Salmon Safe logo ensure consumers that they were produced with farming practices that protect the environment and provide safe habitat for native salmon. The independent certification requires farms to protect water quality, restore streams, conserve water, prevent soil erosion, manage animals, use alternatives to chemicals, and promote native biodiversity.
Over 150 farms and 75 vineyards in Oregon and Washington are Salmon-Safe certified. Their products are available at local groceries, farmers markets, restaurants, and directly through participating farms. More information and a list of certified farms and vineyards can be found at www.stewardshippartners.org.
The project was completed with close to 100% pro-bono support so thanks to everyone who contributed to this Stewardship Partners production.
Go salmon. :)
