I am a congenital amputee (born this way) and this is a quick reply to the question regarding what sort of discrimination and difficulties have I encountered.

  • you are so beautiful and inspiring. If you could answer this question in your next video: how was it like growing up with peers? Also, are you of Chinese heritage? (based on your paralympic videos).

  • @ieodksnw787 I was awarded the opportunity to go to the Paralympics through a committee in the Olympics. Certain individuals were US Ambassadors for the program. I helped to represent Illinois. I am Chinese, but my going to the Paralympics was separate from that :) Growing up with peers is mentioned in my video regarding the difficulties of growing up with a disability. :) Thanks for watching.

  • I'm planning on going into law and I found what you said really revealing. I don't think people realize how often this sort of thing happens and why it is wrong. One of my closest friends was born without a hand and I never realized how irrationally people act about it until I met her. Most of the time she hides it around people she doesn't know to avoid the stupidity. Whatever the case she was a way better waitress than me and if there is any job where you wish you had more hands that is it

  • @retroradify Thank you for watching! A waitress? Very cool!!

  • When I was born, I got stuck in the birth canal which caused a shoulder dystocia and as a result I have a severe case of palsy on my hand arm and shoulder. The stares I get from people are more crippling than my disability itself. I have been discriminate against by employers on 2 occasions.

Despite what I have I went to college got a degree and take on lfe with a can do attitude.

  • I was born with a very rare chromosome disorder; a hole in my heart; bone disfigurement in my feet, cyst at the back of my head, abnormal left 4th rib and other problems, since 1995 i have been put through living hell, people interfering with my body through voodoo, attempted murder, hate campaign etc, you are a brave person to stand up for your rights

  • i applied for a job , was offered the job on my merits and my merits alone . the person who interviewed me was on holiday for 2 weeks after i started . when he saw me he said " if i had know you where disabled i would not have employed you " the look on the hr managers face wa a picture !

  • I have always felt that women are far more accepting of various different situations than men--whether it's jobs, relationships or whatever. God bless and best of luck to you.

  • I want to say that I can not believe people have said those things to you! The problem is that I do believe it even though it shocks me. I know you know how to go about life and not listen to those people but, all of us need a reminded not to care what rude mean people have to say! Those people lost out on an employee with great people skills and an amazing personality. It is their loss for sure Sari!

  • Can't type with one hand? I type with one hand all the time!

  • I noticed the guitars on the wall behind you. Do you play? And if you do, do you wear a glove to avoid hurting your skin?

  • I would urge you to please file a case against these discriminators. I currently have 2 million cases disablitly discrimination lawsuits against the State of Washington DSHS and Dept of Licensing Public Affairs Olympia and my attorney quit after I filed them. Because people refuse to stand up against injustice they will continue to send people with disabilities into poverty. I have no rights and not even allowed to have an attorney now to help me. If we all stoop up it would end.

  • Nice you play bass to:p i love that!

  • I was also born with one hand, it is nice to see another female who has a positive outlook on who they are. I think it is very cool that you are willing to speak openly about what it is like. I think you will really be able to help someone, especially young girls who are struggling with the staring and questions to just be confident and know that beauty is so much more.
