  • 'Headless men' in sex scandal finally named. Unidentified lover in Duchess of Argyll

  • what a wonderfull little film I like the way the cars were spun round on the turntable, never before had seen anything like that on a car ferry

  • The black discs on the hut on the pier were to help the piermaster direct the steamers and whether they could berth or not.

  • It's a pity that they cannot find a consort for the wonderful Waverley for operation on the Clyde , maybe someone could negotiate some sort of deal for the MV Saturn after her long service with Calmac. She would almost certainly pull in the passengers.

  • I do like these older cars...:)

  • Fascinating stuff. Duchess of Hamilton arriving at Largs is 1965 or later as she has the monastral blue hull. Waverley is from about 1970 as she has the lions but has reverted to the black hull. PSPS finally persuaded CalMac to paint her paddle boxes black not long after this. Actually - looking again, I wonder if her hull is not the same blue - in which case, between 1965 and 1970.

    Fantastic film!
