He Touched Me wurde 1963 vom Gospel Komponisten Bill Gaither (nicht zu verwechseln mit einem Bluessänger gleichen Namens) komponiert.
Elvis Presley nahm es 1971 auf und erhielt ein Jahr später einen Grammy Award für das Gospel album auf dem He Touched Me erschien. Elvis kam auf die Idee diesen Gospel aufzunehmen, nachdem er ein Arrangement seiner Begleitsänger the Imperials hörte.

IN ENGLISH:
In 1963 Gospel composer Bill Gaither (not to be confused with the blues singer from the 30's and 40's with the same name) wrote He Touched Me.
In 1971 Elvis recorded that song and got one year later a Grammy Award for the album where this song was released. Elvis was inspired to record the song by his back up singers the Imperials after listening to their arrangement.
