A little slideshow I put together in preperation for the holidays, using assorted Christmas pictures set to "Noel: Christmas Eve, 1913" as performed by John Denver from "John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together". Merry Christmas to all, regardless of religion. ^^

All pictures are (C) their owners/creators. Song is (C) John Denver.

  • Just so, so beautiful! I've always loved this Christmas anthem by John and wish more Christmas music radio stations would include it in their December broadcasts. DerFreishutz, you've shared such a lovely and poignant video. Thank you

  • Thank you! I agree, this song needs to be played more often. It's one of my favorite Christmas songs too.

  • John Denver is the voice of Christmas music. One of his best. Thanks for posting. Merry Christmas!

  • Most of the pictures are old Christmas cards. I remember looking at a pack of Christmas cards a few years ago and seeing most of these pictures.

    Very nice!

  • One of the best!

  • it'll be Christmas again!!! Wonderful song!!

  • Wonderful, I remember that song from my childhood.

  • Great job. . . Thanks!!!

  • Although not credited, most of the words are taken from a poem, "A Christmas Poem," by Robert Seymour Bridges, published in "The Times" in 1913. If you want to hear a really beautiful setting to music, including the gospel story from St. Luke, you should listen to "In Tera Pax" by Gerald Frinzi. Much better than John Denver.

  • Marvelous! I never realized how old this song is - the lyrics to this version are from 1913. :) I have never heard any other version but JD's.

  • This is beautiful. Thank you for putting together for all of us to enjoy,

  • My youth group used to sing this at church on Christmas Eve. I haven't heard it for such a long time and cannot find my cassette tape (tells you how long I've had it!). I love this song so much! Thank you for posting it!
