@TYinWestchester That's bullshit. Nixon and the CIA unofficially endorsed the coup d'état in Chile on September 11, 1973. Salvador Allende was a democratically elected socialist president. The chilean people suffered because of the US support of operation condor. These intelligence operations happened all over Latin America and implemented right-wing dictatorships in countries with socialist movements because of the american fear of "another Cuba." Cut political ties? Yeah right
