  • The idea that lower corporate & individual tax rates spur job growth is a 30-year REPUBLICAN LIE.^Since the implementation of the REAGAN & BUSH TAX CUTS, America has LOST MORE jobs than at any other time in its history. Not collecting a FAIR SHARE of taxes from corporations& the wealthy has spawned a SERIOUS REVENUE PROBLEM which should be a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. On the other hand a WORKING MIDDLE CLASS with money to spend DOES SPUR JOB GROWTH. AMERICA, REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!

  • @tsaj9321 I'm not sure what you have against statistics.

"Individual income tax revenues rose from $244 billion in 1980 to $446 billion in 1989." The burden of these taxes on the poorest 50% went from 7.5% in 1881 to 5.7% in 1988. (source: house(.)gov)

Under Carter, inflation was 15% (Reagan made it 4%) and the interest rate was 20% (Reagan made it 10%). And speaking of employment, Carter left with 7.5% unemployment while Reagan left with 5.3% unemployment. (source: tradingeconomics(.)com)

  • Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China for jobs. I will work with Boehner, Ryan and my other republican colleagues and take immediate action on these proposals. God bless the GOP!

  • Pell Grants is at an unsustainable rate!? Far I'm concern, the Pell Grants is only $5,000 a year. How is that causing tuition to go up?? Pell Grants has nothing to do with higher tuition rates. Mr Ryan please try again.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky America has a historically high 9% unemployment under Obama. And he's been increasing spending and raising taxes. Our revenue problem isn't due to tax cuts. It's due to irresponsible spending on the part of the government.

  • Unfortunately, the President we have now is a lying sack.

  • It's simple: When you give tax cuts then the government receives less money.

When you give tax subsidies to big oil, then the government receives less money.

When (most) rich people run the government the middle class suffers.

When you cut SS you crap on the people who have paid into it their entire lives, (this makes it the peoples money, not welfare).

When you crap on the middle class, (who is the laborers for the rich) then you have a 2 class system rich, and poor.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky Under Reagan's administration, the United States of America saw a net increase of 16 million jobs. Under the Clinton administration - where the rich and the corporations paid a very similar percentage in capital gains tax - the U.S. saw a net increase of 22 million jobs. Therefore, the low tax plans of both presidents spurred job growth.

Tax revenue under the Reagan administration increased from $1.25 trillion to $1.5 trillion. Therefore, tax cuts increased revenue.
