At 0:51 the black and white footage is of a futuristic RAILROAD (two rails) showcased at Disneyland - The Viewliner! It was the precursor to the Alweg Monorail in Tomorrowland. The second view shows Walt at the controls of #101 on it's opening day June 26, 1957. A miniature replica of General Motors' futuristic Aerotrain Oldsmobile "Rocket" V8 engine powered it. Oldsmobile also furnished the windscreen, doors and instrument console for each of the two 5,000-pound (2,300 kg) locomotives
hey thats the old mark 4 monorail at 2:28 I havent seen this since I visit las vegas NV and they were only going from MGM to Bally hotel. thats the train whare the doors swings open like a car doors.
they do, because the Mark V was built out of this, instead of replace the whole train set they just remodel the train, the trainset frame are over 30 years they should replace the whole enchalada.
This could not have been from 1986, as the Mark V monorail did not come online until 1988. While footage shows the Mark III, the interview is done in the tail cone of a Mark V. Great find, though.
This is definitly a Mark V. Can't tell which one though, Purple was the first in 1987 and ironically the last to leave the park November of 2009
