Merry Christmas everybody!
Many of you probably know that I like dark Christmas films. And 'Scrooged' is one of them. Based on Charles Dickens' classic 'A Christmas Carol' this adaptation is set in 1988. This dark comedy was directed by veteran director Richard Donner and stars Bill Murray and Karen Allen. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Make-Up.
Frank Cross is a mean TV-executive who will do pretty much everything to get high ratings. This Christmas he's in charge of setting up a live TV performance of 'A Christmas Carol'. Instead of spending the holidays with friends and family he only wants to work. But on Christmas Eve Frank is visited by the ghost of his deceased boss. This apparition tells him he will be haunted by three spirits. And that's where the fun begins.
The song I used in this video is a Christmas classic. 'Merry XMas Everybody' by Slade. The original soundtrack was composed by Danny Elfman.
