Salt Lake City Scandal Dramatization / Explanation.

Yes steps have been taken - such as a new scoring system that is still in the adjustment stages - to ensure as much as possible this type of thing does not happen. But no sport is safe, lets hope you refs and judges out there are not going to STEAL from others to accomplish a petty hidden desire - never minding the pain and lasting implications to everyone else. That is - I think a Referee or Judge that has the notion to change the outcome of athletes dreams for their own ""greedy pocket"" are POSs.

  • It's irrelevant who deserved gold at these games, they were both amazing teams. I'm glad Sale and Pelletier were awarded gold medals, and equally glad Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze got to keep theirs. The point is, it's the skaters who got screwed, and I'm so sick of reading judgmental crap from people who clearly know little to nothing about figure skating. Don't you think their Olympic moment was spoiled enough without a bunch of amateurs accusing them of cheating or media chasing?

  • both the russins and the canadian won, they both got the gold medal because it wouldn't be fair to take it away from the rusians since they didn't do anything wrong

  • @SCDHSGrad2010 Oh sorry I couldn't hear you through the sound of how hard you fail. Did you say JOANNIE ROCHETTE?

  • Be proud Canadians, you got your gold medals thanks to your incessant and unbearable complaints and cries! Hooray for you, here's to the Canadian way of winning!

  • Here are the marks given by 3 of the judges to the russians

    Russian judge: 5.8 , 5.9

    French judge: 5.8 , 5.9

    Canadian judge: 5.7 , 5.8

The marks given to the canadians

    Russian judge: 5.8 , 5.8

    French judge: 5.8 , 5.8

    Canadian judge: 5.9 , 5.9

It looks like the canadian judge had a much more accurate idea of which team should be Olympic Champion than the french, doesn't it? I wonder why they had to trash the french judge since it is obvious the canadian judge had totally rigged it.

  • Everyone is ignoring the fact the the judge signed a deposition saying that she didn't vote for russia cause of the pressure but the fact that she thought the russians were better. Its like if I were judging a slam dunk contest between michael jordan in his prime and some random high schooler that can kind of dunk. If someone goes up to me and tells me they'll pay me 100 bucks to vote for jordan and I ended up voting for jordan because he was better. It doesn't mean my vote was corrupted.

  • @fspatin Say what you will...but Sale/Pelletier did deserve the gold medals like it or not. Yes...it wasn't the Russian skaters' faults, but with a noticeable mistake w. corrupt judging involved (yes, I know quite a bit of it goes on before you preach to me), in my eyes Russia was 2nd here to Canada's very flawless routine. A non-fall error is still an error.
