Solo mining makes you feel very lonely don't you think? You have a lot of time to think about how empty the minecraft world really is and how you're alone forever.., then i find diamond and i'm like "YES!!" and nothing else matters. It's awesome

It reminds me of "There Will Be Blood"'s opening scenes.

I imagine myself with a 'stache, a killing implement, and a pickaxe, skulking for some riches in the earth, killing anyone stupid enough to try and take my hole in the ground away from me. Oh, and dynamite.

Note: I say "imagine" because i haven't pre-bought "Minecraft". I really want to, though. :C
