I don't think Phil's dead or his girlfriend (Cherl) broke up with him. He wasn't shot in the head, he was shot in the stomach, so he must've fallen into deep coma, and I think the breakup was a lie.

The brakeup WAS a lie (so was the cake), and of course Phil's dead. Why do you think you don't see more than his feet after he dies? I didn't want my audience to puke after seeing minifigure guts all spilled out on the street. I could barely stomach it myself while filming this.

I didn't figure the problem out until later, which was the distance between the minifigs and the camera. I wanted to enter THAC, so I couldn't afford to reshoot. I considered remaking it at one point, but I'm glad I decided to enter THAC.
