Battle For The Bible: The War Over The New Testament Canon
This film explores the claim that the documents for the New Testament were selected by Rome in the 4th century.
This film explores the following questions:
Is there evidence that New Testament documents were already considered Scripture in the first century?
Did the early church leaders of the second and third centuries give us an indication of what they considered Scripture to be?
What is the Muratorian Fragment and why is it important?
Who is Irenaeus and what did he have to say about the gospels?
Are the claims of Dan Brown, the author of the Davinci Code, credible?
How extensively did the early church leaders quote the New Testament before the 4th century?
Did the apostle Paul and the apostle Peter have anything to say on the matter?
After viewing this shocking film you will never look at the New Testament the same way again.

darkaus, I'm a Christian. I realize the Davinci Code is rubbish. Again, it's hard to tell if you're just playing with me or if you're being serious, because either way you're sounding bat-crap crazy.

Your logic is flawed as you're begging the question as to the "core story" of the gospels being historical or legendary in its content. Because you beg this fundamental question, you think your comparison of them to the tales of King Arthur is an apt illustration that Nazareth is also legendary, when it really isn't.

They were written within one generation of Jesus.
I doubt that if the human species is to live on for 2,000 mores years that there will be any substantial archealogical evidence for a town between Ursa, IL and Lima, IL called Marcelline existing during our time. My point is the lack of archealogical evidence isn't always indicative that such a location did exist at that time. Nazareth was a very insignificant place during Jesus' time. "Can anything good come out of Nazareth

Btw, the writers of the 4 gospels didn't claim to get their material by translating golden tablets of "Reformed Egyptian" with a seer stone. The gospel writers, evident within the text, were writing to convey the events in Jesus' ministry which they saw to be of great importance to who Jesus was and what his message was. They wrote in the common language of the day, common Greek.
