I'm pretty finicky when it comes to beans. I enjoy pinto beans, whole OR refried. I also enjoy the heck out of Northern Beans but I've only had them in a can. I don't know if I'd get as much taste if I cooked those (I have the Waterless slowcooker and I think I don't have to soak them overnight). Maybe the ham/bacon is what adds to the taste. I haven't had split pea in years, but I've always loved the heck out of that stuff too!
