  • FEDs are making a wrong call.

they should let cairo flood,,the city has no industry, mostly gov money supports the city (which USA city is NOT supported by FEDERAL money??

. cairo has no utilitarian value, farmland feeds america.

too late, its 10 PM CST,,the levee is now blown..there goes 130K++ (perhaps 230K acres) acres of farmland.

Messiah will continue to judge the US and the world for its countless evils over the past 6000 years. Writing From new orleans , our next flood?

  • I second that. I don't care if it was a Democrat or Republican. He should step down. Sad thing about it is that people were laughing when he said that. What a shame!!!

  • This guy is out of line...how about the idea that they dont blow up the leeve and the people of Cairo can come stay at this assholes home!

  • @pintail75 Yeah, that's why there are farmers who are working some of that land again already, and a good portion of it will be workable by spring. Yeah, that land is ruined, for sure. In truth, flooding is what made that land so rich in the first place. The real problem here is that farmers on both sides of the river want to farm right up to the river banks when it's a pretty sure bet it's gonna flood at some point and farmers should EXPECT it to happen occasionally.

  • @elfman121 Yet there are farmers over there who are already working that land again, not all of it, but a good portion of it either can be used this summer/fall or will be ready to use in the spring. Told you.

  • I've been to Cairo. I live in Cairo. And it has been pronounced to rhyme with arrow for at least 100 of its years, or so our 98 year old residents tell us. There are two videos on utube...Cairo Illinois Flood of 2011 and Cairo Illinois Flood of 2011 (2) that I invite you to view. We don't intend to be bought out. Our town is too rich with history and the farms at our base and above us are flooded almost every year but continue to produce wonderfully. Black or white, we love our town.

  • @madwarrior84

Have you been to Cairo? It was a river town of 15k filled with hookers and gambling and now it's only 3k of people to poor to move. Most of the buildings are abandoned and it is located inbetween where two rivers meet. It's a flood waiting to happen.

Pay the people (black, white or purple) to move out and save the farmland. Saving a dump and losing food production is stupid. Another dumb choice made by racism and not logic.

  • Very obvious these are racially fueled comments, is ridiculous!!!!.. HE SHOULD BE FIRED,, EFFECTIVE IMMEADIATELY!!!!!!!1

  • You are beneath the dirt of my shoes.... Why can't you pronounce CAIRO correctly? It's is pronounced KY-ROH you dumb ass, not KAAY-ROW! Btw, you have just exposed your dirty little secret to the world. YOU ARE A SCUMBAG RACIST! "WHAT A LOSER" Thumbs down on you...
