A continued critique of the Gold Tone CEB-4 Marcy Marxer Cello Banjo. I discuss using the open CGDA tuning instead of using the capo.

  • Marcy,

I know you don't play everything in C, that's pretty obvious from your wonderful youtube offerings. What I meant to say is that the banjo sounds great in C and if you have an opportunity to play in that key, take it.

  • I am really tempted to try the cello banjo but can I still play Irish music on it in GDAE?

  • Hi Mike, There's an error in this review, too. Your review says we play everything in C. Thats far from true, though I do love the sound of that low C bass note. I play in most keys, sometimes with a capo and sometimes without. Hope you can come to a live show sometime.

    The world needs more banjos!
