School Lost Episode 2 - Part 5 of 7

In this segment, the ship's computer has initiated self destruct, and Chief Engineer Osorio has only 12 minutes remaining to disable the computer while avoiding it's automated security systems. Meanwhile Captain Layton desperately tries to keep the crew from descending into hysteria in the face of the growing emergency as crew members die from the Bubonic Plague virus that escaped from Sickbay. Meanwhile on Leer's ship, Lt. Anthony Coates finally realizes that he and his Welder's Squad have been betrayed by Captain Layton and left stranded. Leer makes Coates "an offer he can't refuse". With one minute remaining to self destruct, Doctor Pond does the only rational thing he knows how to do, play pong on the main view screen and gamble on the fate of the crew - literally - for ten dollars. Science Office D'Alimonte becomes hysterical as the pressure begins to crack the discipline of the Bridge Crew.

I graduated in '88 and we too had a "show".

Having grown up in the '70's, I can see where the ideas came from and the humor bits too. Great time capsule. The whole thing.
