What is the limit for the best processor you can get on inspiron 1545?

Okay I'm on 64 bit operating system, with 3GB Ram, How much can the Dell inspiron 1545 hold? Because I can't find it anywhere? If it can go up to 8 that is great :D

@hamoudeish for one upgrading to 512mb would be pretty pointless, but if you wanted to it would be impossible / highly impractical

I have the 32 bit is with 8 gigs of ram installed so I don't know what you are talking about when u said you can only use 3.25 gigs anyway

@TheExpertsBP - Windows will display the amount of RAM you have installed, BUT that does not mean it will use all of it. A 32bit OS will only use up to 3.25GB of RAM. To make use of the rest you need a 64bit OS.
Just because Windows shows 8GB that doesn't mean it is actually using the full 8GB.

wait im confused. im not a computer wiz but i want a 4g upgrade for my 1545. I currently have 3g worth of ram. So i get get 4gb upgrade does that mean im combineing my current ram with the 4g upgrade making me have a total of 7 gb of ram? or do i only have 4....

@mkakiler - No. You are better off just buying a 2GB stick, remove the 1GB module you currently have and replace with the 2GB, totalling 4GB.
Bear in mind if you are using a 32bit Operating System, it will not be able to use more then 3.25GB anyway. To use more you need to change to a 64bit OS.
