Rama, the hero of the Ramayana, is a popular deity worshipped in the Hindu religion. Each year, many devout pilgrims trace his journey through India, halting at each of the holy sites along the way. The poem is not seen as just a literary monument, but serves as an integral part of Hinduism, and is held in such reverence that the mere reading or hearing of it, or certain passages of it, is believed by Hindus to free them from sin and bless the reader or listener.

According to Hindu (particularly the Vaishnava) tradition, Rama is an incarnation (Avatar) of the God Vishnu. The main purpose of this incarnation is to demonstrate the righteous path (dharma) for all living creatures on earth.

Arshia Sattar states that the central theme of the Ramayana, as well as the Mahabharata, is respectively Ram's and Krishna's hidden divinity and its progressive revelation.

  • In addition, I didn't mean to pick on the Hindus

All "religions" are the hallmarks of insane individuals

  • @dudupoduappu

Sure, but my replies will take time. I'm a pretty busy person. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I don't have much problem with that. Proceed.

  • @Minatoleekrinaze Says a man who has read none?! :P

But you're right, it is about how much one can absorb and re-construct. So how about it? Let's have a little 'show', shall we? I'll ask you a few questions from mythology which I believe involves your understanding of the myths and you ask me a few of your own? What say you? Are you up for it, or are you all talk?

  • wow! no wonder canabis, hashish and opium came out of that place....

  • i came here hoping it was something like avatar

  • Intelligence is not shown by how many books you read, but how you show it.

  • @dudupoduappu

There's nothing less I can say to someone who prefers to begin arguments with insults rather than trying to teach. If you are oh so wise, show it by teaching me. You have not shown that, and you have not given a significant argument.

By the way, you contradicted yourself. You could have ignored what I said. I know already I reply to things. You had the opportunity to ignore. Shame, really.

  • @Minatoleekrinaze Irony irony, obviously you're a desperate fool as well as an ignorant one. If you don't like my opinion - IGNORE! Can you do that? Clearly it is you who has done very less reading. Read my previous comment carefully and try to comprehend. We're done here.

  • @Minatoleekrinaze

Oh, and that's more Bollywood oriented music in that scene, but what do you care. :)

  • @dudupoduappu

You are saying I am an ignorant fool for reading and understanding? Clearly you have not studied the mythology, or even read the captions in the film. I have nothing more to say to idiots who call racist at the firs thing they see like you. If you choose to reply to this, that is your problem and yours alone. :) Some of us enjoy the movie. Feel free to spoil it for yourself, but don't screw it up for us.
