Mourne Mountain Rescue Team (OFFICIAL)

The Mourne Mountains or Mournes (Irish: Beanna Boirche, meaning "Boirche's hills"), a granite mountain range located in County Down in the south-east of Northern Ireland, are among the most famous mountains in the country. The surrounding area is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Mournes are partly owned by the National Trust and see a large number of visitors every year including tourists, hillwalkers, cyclists and rock climbers. The highest mountain in Northern Ireland is Slieve Donard at 853 metres (2,798 ft). The name Mourne is derived from the name of a Gaelic clann or sept called the Múghdorna.

Work alongside PSNI/GARDA, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, Search & Rescue Dog Association (SARDA), Coast Guard

Mourne MRT cover the mountainous regions from Slieve Croob in the North to the Cooleys in the south.
