i understand having a good knife but a randall it takes years to order one from the company and the lowest price is 350 for a bird and trout model a combat knife like a model 14 or a model 1 is more like 500 to 750 with engravings

@pathfinderm4 then don't purchase a Randall. Check out my latest Becker BK2 video, for 64 dollars, it's another recommended choice. Just because I carry a certain thing in my bag doesn't mean that you must carry the same in yours. Good luck!

@mace085 swim? No, that's a little too far to swim. I plan to barter my way across on a freighter or other private boat.

I've been thinking about this a lot, and have come to some of the same conclusions. This is arguably one of the most difficult situations to be in during a collapse, especially with the whole getting outta dodge and laying low before the military notices that you've "punched out". As has been said, this kit can definitely work for civilian applications, and the best part is that it isn't an enormous 90-lbd ruck!
Godspeed on your deployments, friend. I pray that these items are not necessary.
