  • @8xxABHIxx8 umm, the more weight , the more traction a car has , you dont need to look anything up it's common sense. two cars , same hp and tires one weighs 2500lbs and the other weighs 4500lbs. both accelerate hard, the 4500lb car will go further cause of less wheel spin and then it's weight will bring it down and the 2500lb car will burn it cause of it's lightweight body and speed.

  • @Bravo12RX Look up what drive type is and how true AWD systems function. All your questions about grip will be answered.

  • @8xxABHIxx8 bro , you're saying the worlds lightest car won't get wheel spin with over 500hp right ? it's the matter of balancing it than anything else. you can , but you'll get more wheel spin and then it'll hook up and burn the other car. but yea , it depends on the tires and the camaro has more grip but more weight and more power. the mustang has less grip less power and alot less pounds and look at the result, 5.0 stomping on a 6.2 that's why i say ford is just as good as chevy.

  • @Bravo12RX Weight adds more grip on a car? You're kidding right? The Challenger is rated at 470 horses for the SRT8 and weighs close to 4200 lbs. The Camaro is 580 HP at 4200 lbs. The weight has nothing to do with how much you can grip the road. What matters it the drive type, the tires, the suspension, spoilers, splitters, weight distribution etc. You can have a 2000 lb car grip better than a 4000 lb car with the right set up. Trust me, the ZL1 will never be able to shed 4-500 lbs.

  • @8xxABHIxx8 zo6 gets 20+mpg. zr1 gets around 18. and that's great for a car that can hit 200mph. all weight does is reduce wheel spin and make the car's acceleration slower untill it picks up speed. if the camaro weighs less or equal to the mustang , it's acceleration would be alot better and it's handling too. plus challenger's have 425hp and 4100lbs(about) compared to 580hp with 4200lbs. also on the weight , it adds more grip on a car.

  • @Bravo12RX Great mileage? You do realize you have to pay gas guzzler tax for the Vette right? My point is you're right, see you would pick the Vette. Because it's lighter, more powerful, better fuel economy. Now with what you said before about "either from Dodge or GM". In terms of performance cars, the Challenger and the Camaro weigh a lot more than the 5.0, 5.4, or the 5.8. 5.0 ~ 3600. 5.4,5.8 ~ 3800. While the Camaro SS/2SS weighs ~3800 and ZL1 ~4200. Challenger? Forget it.

  • ... I think you meant from Kentucky.

  • @8xxABHIxx8 i rather have the corvette, why? because of all that power , it get's a great mpg,and still have some looks. yea the mustang gt's are more show than anything else. the 5.0's started having some good performance, the ford gt, has to be one of the best thing america has ever produced.have you seen the 2012 silverado?yea.more towing and payload and a GREAT mpg.you can tow 23,000lbs now.awards?silverado won 2011 truck of the year.also more weight=more grip & less chances wheel spin.

  • @Bravo12RX

Would you rather get a Corvette or a Mustang GT500 both with the same amount of power?

I'm gonna guess and say you're going to go with the Corvette right? Why? Because of the weight.

So in terms of performance cars if you're saying either Dodge or GM then you're basically saying you would want the GT500 from the situation above because Challenger and Camaro both weight hundreds of pounds more than the GT500.

If you're talking about trucks, look at sales and awards.

  • @8xxABHIxx8 eww ford. ford GT and the super duty IMO are the only cars worth buying from ford, rest is either from dodge or GM.
