  • Only problem with paying certain teachers more is that unscrupulous individuals might be tempted to make their classes easier or basically pass students who do not know the material to increase their pay.

With effective grading systems this shouldn't be an issue.

  • If we could eliminate Teacher's unions, fire bad teachers and pay the good ones more that would solve a multitude of issues.

  • @MsJanetWood Ms. Janet Wood, I have seen you on tons of youtube education videos, and I have to say, your just flat out biased. Just cause you think that your working hard doesn't mean that every teacher out there is. You say "the majority of teachers," and hey, guess what, this video straight out says that if they got rid of the bottom 6-10%, aka the minority, our education system would vastly improve. Then, maybe the collective teachers union would actually deserve a pay increase.

  • @iamcompucomp Propaganda for what? The director is an avowed liberal who made "An Inconvenient Truth", so he has nothing political to gain. If there's something dishonest here, then please point out what it is, rather than throwing out accusations.

  • Teacher unions are the most vile organizations in this country. I have seen first hand what they can do.

  • @CSATexan Guilty as charged!

  • He never mentions the fact that 50% of new teachers quit within 5 years!

The majority of teachers are hard-working, dedicated people who many times go far and beyond the call of duty!

Does Mr. Guggenheim deem the 9/11 heroic fireman as failures? Both buildings fell down and thousands lost their lives!

But, they were dealing with extenuating circumstances beyond their control!
