I actually like when I can't hear everything at first listen, it makes me listen to the song multiple times to discover it.
This album, Moonsorrow's Verisakeet, Ulver's Nattens Madrigal, Impetuous Ritual's Relentless Execution of Ceremonial Excrescence all require several listens just to understand what's happening in the songs.

Anyone know where to get the lyrics for this album?
-
and its also the fact that the production gives it a certain atmosphere; the white noise and crackling gives it a colder feel

what's "crap xD"? what does xD mean?

Once you hear it once, you have an idea of what to expect, so once that landscape gets laid down, new things will start to emerge, and such. It's what makes it a passion, and so fun. haha.
It's not crap, just cause it's not handed to you on a sparkling plate, that sounds like it's been run through the filters 50 times. Fuck that shit, I hate over-production.
This is intentional, the artist did hear what it sounded like while they recorded it =-P, and they were happy with it. It captured the feeling, the environment. THAT is black metal. IT IS REAL.
