Hello everybody, this is my 1964 Magnavox Astro-Sonic Console Stereo. I purchased it at a flea market in 2005, and it's worked ever since. It is really a beautiful set, and it's next owner definately wont be disappointed!

  • Hay can someone help me the record player was not working so i took the back off and checked it and the yelloew gear in the middle is stripped, does any one know wher i can go to look for parts?

  • @orrie0 Try ebay

  • Are all of these "Astro-Sonic" models solid state? Or where any of them tube sets? I'd be interested to know, since there are a lot of these on the market (cheap, too), but I'm only interested in tube gear. If all were solid state, I guess I'll cross them off my list of sets I might buy.

  • @schepler2 Yes. All the Astro-Sonic models are solid state. The Astro-Sonics came out when Maganvox decided to eliminate the tubes. I believe they came out in 1963 or so. My Magnavox tube console was made in 1961, but it is dated as 01-02-62. I have videos of that one on here as well. It sounds quite similar to my Astro-Sonics. It just has a tube amplifier. I was very pleased with every Magnavox Stereo Console I have ever owned.

  • hi everyone, i have one possibly a little older here on youtube, would love to hear your comments and help me date it

  • Absolutely If I can see the video you have of the stereo, I can help you identify when it was made.

  • You can order needles through Radio Shack, either on the site, or in the store. That's where I got my needles.

  • Hey, thanks for saying that! That fixed the hum in MY Astro Sonic!
