Homebirth of Hazel Rose... Part 1

Our darling baby was born on 11th May 2010, our home/ waterbirth was the most amazing experience. The birth was so quick and straight forward thanks to hypnobirthing and the calm, relaxed atmosphere.

My waters broke at 5am and I got up and began to get the house cleaned and set up for the birth while i was having mild contractions for most of the morning, stopping to breath through the contractions. We started to fill the pool and by the time I got in at 12 pm my contractions were becoming more intense. They were increasingly stronger untill I felt pressure and the urge to push half an hour later. Once i started pushing i felt her head coming down on one push, then the next push i had the biggest contraction and pushed the whole way through and mangaged to get her whole head out in one go! I then squatted upright and delivered the rest of her body into my arms. It all happened so fast I was amazed at my body's ability! It was the best experience and i cant wait to do it all over again!! lol

@heLuvsMyBooty Labour was pretty much already established i just used it to keep contractions regular and for a calming effect.

@boricubananena7 it didnt take the pain away but it helped to have something i could sit on that moved with my body but i found the hands and knees position to give me the most relief from pain.

how old was your son when you had your other child. he sounds so sweet.

@jhartist123 No. It's completely different, because it's the body that he's seen his whole life, not some random stranger. And watching his younger sibling being born gives him a deeper connection with the fact that it's THEIR baby. He knows where it came from, and who it belongs to.

@grinnellphoto The music is called Chakra Suite by Steven Halpern it is the background music to a hypnobirthing soundtrack i listened to during my pregnancy it helped so much to relax me during labour I definately recommend it! Start listening to it now while you rest to prepare for your birth :)

@jhartist123 I don't see how it's the same at all. I personally wouldn't have my son watch me give birth because I don't think many boys want to grow up with the memory of their mother in the buff. But I don't think it's anything like nudity in movies. Nudity in movies is usually sexual and crude, where-as childbirth is beautiful and natural. Sorry you feel so harshly about it.

What a wonderful way to become a baby...everythings looks so comfy and silent and relaxing. I don't like hospitals at all...especially the screaming nurses "push...puuuush"....i think your bodies know how to act during labor. Well done!!!

@jhartist123 its also different because he came out of that body. and technically, he's seen the inside of his mom's uterus, and once you've seen that, you can pretty much see anything (that your mom has).
