hi! first of all thank you for all the tips and ideas, what type of lasers do you use?and , would a 5mw look well with a fog machine in a large room like the ones you use?

you know what you could do, you could put it on top of a speaker and make it sound reactive

A good alternative mounting location is on top of a 3rd angle speaker or subwoofer. You often have to tweak the spring rate a bit to get the right effect for a given type of music, but it's worth it. You can also mount/glue an offangle mirror directly to a cheap speaker center cone and bounce the beam off a spinning axis mirror onto it. Orchestrates perfectly with music that way and creates some truly awesome effects :)

This is a large lens from a 'blackboard lens kit'. Very nice but expensive. However, the back is 'frosted glass' or plastic and that can be found at most hardware stores.

Local craft store. I guess gluing mirrors onto things is common.
