he plays a Wal bass, and he is Mick Karn.
-
Me thinks the backing vocalists weren't hired for their voices somehow...

Mark Brzezicki on the skins!! Makes Phildo Collins look like a washed up drummer for a High School marching band !!

@luthier67 just from listening to Kraftwerk to searching for my old idol HOJO..if I listen to the guitar solo by Brian may, the bass...sound a lot like the bass played on Paul Youngs album...I would say its Pino Palladino...:-)

Yes Mick Karn on bass- fabulously talented guy
its a tragedy that he has died at the start of January -only 52
RIP Mick

mick looks like a zombie because he doesn't have eyebrows at this time. he'd seen peter gabriel after the "lambs lie down on broadway" tour (gabriel had shaved a chunk of hair from the middle of his hair ) and thought "i can one up that". and hey presto no eyebrows. still love the skinny greek bass player he is a genius.

Anybody can recognise Mick's skills on bass!

the million dollars band !!!

unbelievable ....

Man!!! do you think a roadie could have run on and adjusted that mike stand for him? He did a great job singing playing keys and hold the boom arm!

regarding whether or not Pino Palladino is on this- I dont seem to see him either- the gent standing next to may at 3:38 is Mick Karn- that Wal bass he is playing is one give away- he also has somewhat of a distinctive look about his eyes and forehead- kind of zombie like (no offense intended here- just observation) kind of like early bowie-ish if you know what I mean (I am not describing it well here)- anyway- that is def. Mick Karn.

I actually liked the backing vocals so I tried to find more info on these gals. It's a mom/daughter team (Sam & Vicki Brown) that's very popular in England and parts of Europe. Vicki suffered for many years (lukemia, I think) but continued to perform. Unfortunately, she died a few years after this show. Sam still performs - as does her father, Joe. Very misical family here.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know. But now I know I've heard Sam's hit Stop (1988) many times. Apparently Vicki died in 1991, and Sam's daughter born in 1993 also was named Vicki.
