This video is aimed at those wanting to become professional sign makers and vinyl applicators and NOT the average consumer.

How to apply vinyl via dry application with a side hinge in 28 degree weather on glass.

I believe it's important for people to not rely on wet application methods. This shows how to do it dry with no air bubbles, in the cold, on glass, with a 15"x38" piece of vinyl!

Wet applications can introduce contaminants into the adhesive (such as certain degreasers, perfumes, and dyes). Wetting solutions may also not be pH balanced, which both acidic and basic pH may hurt the adhesive. For the price of one 16 oz bottle of a popular wetting solution, a full roll of vinyl can be used to practice. Which is cheaper in the long run? Home-brewed solutions may lead to problems like I mentioned by introducing contaminants into the adhesive.

    thank you

  • Please see my center hinge video. That is the technique I'd use.

As can be expected, these techniques take practice. Once you master them though it is very easy.
