The song on this video is dedicated to the memory of Lawren Harris. He came to Agawa Canyon in the spring of 1919 with a friend ... Harris felt this country healed his soul and renewed his spirit!

  • Hi Leadingnorth

Appreciate your comment and like your videos.

The music is from my CD Wildwood...this was done a couple of years ago as a tribute to my favourite laketrout fisherman ( and sometimes artist!) Tom Thomson.

    all the best,

    Don C.

  • I love this song-- the images of the members of the group of 7 and Lawren Harris' paintings are amazing-- Is that the Agawa train trip? I've never been.. good vid.

  • Many thanks for your kind comment - I'm sure Harris enjoyed some of Thomson's fried lake trout fillets.

He did some paintind around Achigan Lake (on the A C R line. This lake was famous for it's legendary lake trout!

  • Thanks you for your comment...Lawren Harris came to Agawa in the spring of 1918 ...recovering from a nervous breakdown...that was brought on by two tragic events...the drowning of his good friend Tom Thomson in July of 1917 and the loss of his brother Howard in February 1918...this country inspired Harris...his soul was healed ...
