I'm in awe. Tom Jones is much better than he was 40 years ago. His voice has taken on a soulful tone and he's stretched himself singing songs like this.
It's not just studio magic. Listen to the AVO Sessions from Basel where he can boom it live still.
This is such a terrific performance from one of the few living legends still around.

I'm probably one of the few viewers who know Tom Jones since the 60s (Delilah, Green Green Grass of Home, What's New Pussycat). For me, he was just a pop singer, not to compare with my idols of that era. But in this song, I recognized a great artist and I take back my judgement, shamefully. Primarily, I appreciate that he stands by his age now - no more black dyed hair. I agree fully with Arch666Angel's comment: Tom is like red wine, the older the better.

I totally get the Johnny Cash thing!! Actually it's a excellent comparison! This album is great....and actually I grew up just hating Tom Jones...my Mom played him ALL the time. But this CD is totally different and very real. It's really good!
