From the album Music for Pleasure

Lyrics:

I used to get real bored in class
I don't need no politics to make me dance
No rules no laws no regulations
No facist friends no race relations

I just wanna run around
I don't wanna settle down
Politically fashionable scene
Facist managers dreams

My politics don't sell clothes
And riots don't sell my soul
If I vote for something it's something I can see
Give me fun not anarchy

Just wanna run around
Don't wanna settle down
Politically fashionable scene
Facist managers dreams

I used to get real bored in class
I don't need no politics to make me dance
No rules no laws no regulations
No facist friends no race relations

I just wanna run around
Don't wanna settle down
Politically fashionable scene
Facist manager dreams
Dreams

  • I loved the Damned when I was a youngster-I got into the new wave bands about 76/77-saw the Damned and a whole lot of other groups then-the Skids, the Scars, groper, uK Subs etc. The Damned were always my favourites. Then the fuckin morons with their huge spiky hair and leather jackets came along and fucked it for all of us.

They just didn't get it at all the fuckin idiots.

they thought to be a punk you had to wear a leather jacket/high leg docs/have big spiked hair-what a fucking joke.

  • Underrated album. I think it's wonderful. Actually it was the first Damned album I ever heard.

  • The Damned tried to make it seem like Brian was never in the band after this album. But the truth is, they were never better than this imo. And this is my favorite Damned album.

  • LOVE the guitar. the vocals are.....interesting. xD

  • give me fun not anarchy

  • @okcomputer1016 YEAH SURE IT DOES MONKEY . WHY IS YOU SEPTICS ARE ALWAYS WHINING ABOUT SOME THING .EVERY WHINE ITS A FUCKING USELESS YANK.

  • stretchercase -you are totally wrong. How dare you trash a whole different generation of kids just because they were younger than you and you got too old to understand...you sound a bit like your parents did. Most of us loved the old punk bands but couldn't live in the past.

  • agreed - i loved this lp when it came out...but it did suffer a bit from mason's production. still - i think it stands up really well all this time later. criminally under appreciated.

  • Music for Pleasure ... one of the most under-rated albums of the punk era ... Brian James guitar hero ...

  • Muther Phuckers....I keep coming on this album and thinking this is one of the best things out of Punk...ever.....

  • I always saw this as an extension of Damned damned damned. Personally I preferred this to Machine gun etiquette. Great song. It's no wonder Brian James played guitar for Iggy on his new values tour 1979
