When it comes to human rights in China, the US talks tough but rarely takes action. Dozens of Chinese dissidents, human rights groups and one US congressman gathered at the Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Washington DC to denounce the imprisonment of Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo. But Washington's dependence on Beijing economically and its eagerness to sell billions of dollars in arms to Taiwan, Japan and South Korea highlight the US's hypocrisy when it comes to human rights.

  • Before the US launches another attack on China's human rights record, it should look at itself in the mirror. The US government acts as though it's the premiere preacher on the topic of human rights, yet it continues to engage in widespread human rights violations of its own. The occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan are a good start.

  • Why do all these Amercans act like total idoits? your tvs screwed you up. I grow up in China, my parents aint rich, they aint powerful, but I grew up just fine. not as fine as normal kids in america, but much better than mexicans and afericans and most of the aferican-americans. why dont you killed those basterds digging blood diamonds and pay more to your mexican gardener first, and then stop invading mideast for oils, and then you are more then welcome to "help" China.

  • Its true the human rights record in America is far from sparkling. For a start they need to abolish the death penalty. Russia deserves credit for that.

But at least in the US, freedom of expression is enshrined. In Russia and China you can be jailed for years simply for expressing an opinion.

Britain has a much better human rights record than Russia, China or the US. Fact.

  • RT = PUTIN NEWS

Its a disgrace to journalism with a blatant anti-west, ultra Russian nationalist agenda

  • @eaglesblades Oh please, dont just doubt people if they said something. I agree with MrAdlwg. If you disagree, post your opinion instead of posting silly comments.

I can easily answer ur question too "American ass kisser?"

  • @ZhangtheGreat

Certainly no denying that China has many human rights violations. Everybody knows that. At least it isn't the hell hole that is North Korea.

However, the US with the passing of NDAA section 1021, INDEFINITE DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL (passed Dec 31, 2011 by Obama).

The US can NEVER again speak about human rights violations. The US is following the Chinese wonderful record of human rights.

  • americans preaching about human rights again?? Fuck off, you assholes have killed untold millions in wars in the last 60 years alone.

You commited untold atrocities against Koreans, chinese, vietnamese etc.. not to mention you turned asian women into sucky sucky whores

and you are probably going to kill hundreds of millions more in the coming decades

in the 1900 filipino war, america got away with the deaths of a million filipinos for fucks sake...... how do they keep getting away with shit?

  • lots of hypocrisy around the globe. Watch:

  • @Theoriginalpoorguy I certainly know what a totalitarian regime is that limits free speech, freedom to practice religeon of my choice, amd freedom of the press. Just ask Mr. Google.

As for "communism" I'm sure there are less restricting forms.
