Yes it is a big deal! a big deal that the tobacco companies have with the government! This has absolutely nothing to do with kids! forget about the kids here!... this is nothing more than the GOV complaining about not making enough money from tobacco sales! in fact, they would prefer if more people smoked. but what about all those anti-smoking programmes and lobbies? did you know that most of them and the quit smoking drug companies are owned by tobacco companies? THIS IS ONLY ABOUT MONEY!!!

You imply that the supply and demand trumps moral and legal responsibility. In other words, only obey the law if the price is right. Are you are willing to be complicit in a crime and put your children at risk to save a few dollars?

If that is true then you must also believe that smokers are just marionettes who's strings are controlled by economists and governments, and they incapable of independent thought and moral decision!

If I were a smoker, I might consider buying cigs from a convenience shop if they weren't so expensive there... it's basic supply and demand.

People demand low prices. Convenience stores / Government don't supply them. See the problem?

Hey Gr8testHits - While many are trying to protect kids from cancer by preventing them from getting cigarettes from ANY source, you seem to think that everyone should forget about the kids and circumvent the tax laws. I applaud these guys for doing their part and trying to protect kids. If it leads to more tax revenue on cigarettes ..AWESOME!!! The health care system needs more taxes to pay for your lung cancer treatments.

All tobacco is RADIOACTIVE and causes CANCER 100%. The ONLY difference between contraband and legal is that the GOVT doesnt get to profit off of the killing you!!
