@550HPGTO About 650 HP out of the box...so to say. Remember the comp ratio was way high back then....pure race gas quality. To run with todays "premium" the numbers would be way down.

He banned the 427 SOHC because he wanted a Chrysler win, why the hemi, I haven't heard that one.

@TheDb351c A few Cammers were installed in 1964 Galaxies, photo-graphed and paraded before journalists, but none actually rolled off the lines, which put NASCAR in a quandary. Chrysler had a double-overhead-cam Hemi waiting in the wings should the Ford SOHC prove dominant this is straight from NASCAR that printed this.

Wish my 350 sounded and ran like those cammers or any ford motor ive had but they don't. Think its time to sell my chevy junk and go back to ford i miss the whiplash effect the ford motors have.
