Sorry since its maiden flight I've had almost nothing to do with the aircraft and don't have any performance figures.

the aeroplane is fitted with a CONTINENTAL C90.

Why is the pilot always at the back in planes with this seating arrangement. Even modern fighters.

Most tandem seat aircraft are designed so that the front seat is roughly over the centre of gravity of the aircraft, it is designed to be balanced with the pilot in the rear seat, making little difference to the balance with or without a front seat occupant. The rear seat also offers better visibility.
