I remember the first time I heard this, over 40 years ago, in the Usher Hall (Ithink). When it finished, there was a moment of utter silence, then the roof was lifted by the roar of the audience. Suddenly, we were all patriots, ready to die for Scotland. What dream!

I dunno what's worse. Having my wife catch me looking at a porno site, or catching me watching this and bawling like a baby.

Both my parents a scots but I was bought up in England so I call myself British to save all the arguments. As a little kid thought this was the official anthem of Scotland. I was extremely disappointed when I found out it wasn’t. But to me it will always be just that. It invokes such fond memories of my childhood holidays. An exceptional singer so sadly missed. Thank you for up loading.

@oldusty4 Whether he was sick or stoned or both or neither, oldusty, he sounds strong and beautiful, and that's what's important--along with the fact that the guy was a genius and a true hero.

"But we can still rise now, and be the nation again, that stood against them ..." Better words do not exist.

I love this!! Nothing could be better!
oldusty4-you should be ashamed of yourself! How can you say such horrible things about poor dear Roy?! He was a wonderful person, the Corries' fans, like myself, will always miss him terribly. You are the one who is sick. Show some respect for the man who wrote Scotland's national anthem, and who will always be loved and remembered for it!

I will never tire of this song, the perfect anthem! I must add, oldust4, that is quite a tasteless remark about Roy Williamson. His passing was a sad day that was felt throughout Scotland.
