If it weren't for the Nostalgia Critic I wouldn't of remembered when I was 7 or 8 when Patty said "Funky Town" I asked my mom (who was watching it with me) whats Fucky Town? and she said they said Funky Town and I think I said it sounded like Fucky Town and she told me not to say that (didn't know swears until I was 9)

@GiantPetRat The writing in the two shows isn't remotely similar. Arthur's the kind of show you would see aired on Nick Jr. It has some funny bits but it's not satirical like Doug was.

I realize Ken Scarborough was the head writer for both shows, but at the time he was doing Arthur, he was also doing the Disney abomination...which is probably one of the reasons the Disney version was so poor in the first place.

@TheInternetVigilante How are they not similar? Arthur features an 8-year-old, dorky protagonist, often has fantasies, and is surrounded by a variety of friends with different ethnicities and backgrounds. Dough is 11, but really, I'd say the premises are a lot alike. I also said it FELT like a clone, I'm not accusing it of being one.

@ImmaSpike1 But this movie IS the Disney version. I don't care if people rip this movie or the Disney Doug...they can tear that shit apart all they want. The problem is people not distinguishing between the two, because the Disney "Doug" was an insult to the REAL Doug.
