Wildfires have already scorched at least 3.5 million acres nationwide this year. This is more than triple the average for that period and represents the highest total acres burned in the past decade. A wildfire in Arizona this week is now the second-largest in the state's history, and still growing. Drought has continued to expand across the southern tier of the United States, all the way from southern Arizona to South Florida, a continuous distance of almost 2,000 miles. Ninety-six percent of Texas and 94% of New Mexico are currently enduring some level of drought conditions. Heavy rain and snow in the northern U.S. has caused record flooding along the Mississippi River Valley this spring. Thousands of people were evacuated, and for the first time in some four decades, the Morganza Spillway in Louisiana was opened, flooding thousands of square miles in rural Louisiana in order to save Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Severe tornadoes have raked dozens of states from California to Maine. Deadly twisters have been reported in 14 states. Tonadoes have taken at least 525 people this year so far, including more than 141 in Joplin, Mo., on May 22. This is the deadliest year for tornadoes since accurate records began in 1950. The weather seems to be getting more extreme and intense, day by day. Watch the weather changes!

  • Is God controlling the weather....?

  • balancing man's theory and god's theory great job I do believe the earth shifts the cycle will go through life but withthe forces of nature natural or human nothing that we can control like teh weather and people can not be controlled but you let nature take its course I do wind, rain, sleet, snow, bitter cold tornadoes, fires and heatwaves they happen they are a way of life, I think dealing with It and asking for help Is best.
