Scientific progress is impossible without freedom of speech. Just look at how scientificly backwards Islamic countries are.

islamic countries today are NOT islamic. they dont represent islam :) There is no islamic state at all today, and hence the work for the caliphate!

they claim to be islamic, they are islamic. perhaps you should relable yourself so that people know not to judge you as being them. either that or somehow get them to admit that they are not islamic.

well i could claim that you are not islamic and they are. who is to say weather or not my claim is accurate. if someone chooses to call themselves islamic than they are islamic.

yes, there IS a way of measuring it! And that is implementation of islam. EVERY Muslim knows that todays "islamic countries" are ANYTHING but - this is something all muslims know. so regardless of what these treacherous govvernments say, the reality is well known to muslims :)

@greycloud24 yeah, we have a way of defining whether something is 'islamic.'

it's called Quran (our Book) and Sunnah (the saying, actions, approvals of the Prophet Muhammad (May God's peace and blessing be upon him)).

@Scrapheap71 To be fair i think you ought to look at the unparalled scientific contribution by the muslims during the the time the islamic caliphate did exist ! Todays 'so called islamic states' are anything but !

Evidence for ur claim?

The Christians+Jews+Muslims coexisted under the Caliphate for more than 1300 years, in an empire that stretched from the pyreness to the Great wall of China. In fact, some states which were under Judo-Christian rule invited and sought help from the Muslim Caliphs to take their state and establish Islamic rule in it.

Under the caliphate the christain and jewish communities prospered, that is why these people still exist in those regions of the world where the caliphate existed.

We are Muslims and we know our faith. Have a discussion with a Muslim jurist or a scholar of Islam and he will tell you that there is no present day Islamic state ruled under total Islamic governance. The leaders may profess being Muslims but emulating the fundamentals of Islamic jurisdiction upon the land is not their agenda.

They are not Islamic; any Muslim will tell you openly that there is NO Islamic state existing presently on this earth. Its not a secret its an unfortunate reality. Saudi is a monarch ruled by corrupted leaders who have gone astray and the last caliphate empire fell in the early 2oth century. Mustafa Ataturk replaced the state with a secularist agenda that Subdued freedom of faith and culture...

The Islamic countries were advanced in scientific knowledge and progressed FAR beyond Europe for over 1000 years. It was only because of internal corruption that led to the fall of this significant progression. The Renaissance was sparked thanks tot he Muslim lands. Great men traveled to Islamic Spain and Islamic Baghdad to learn and acquire knowledge. Millions upon millions of books were written by Islamic scholars and great libraries existed.
