@psoni6 The decision of doing the lip sync is probably taken by the organizers and not the singer. Shreya Ghosal is a seasoned live performer who normally shouldn't have a problem with performing live. There could be other reasons also, if the singer happens to have a throat infection/bad throat or some other problem on that particular day. No option but to lip sync in such a situation.

Lots of big artists lip sync at major functions to prevent unexpected mess ups. Even A. R. Rahman did it during the live performance of Ma Tujhe Salaam when it was first performed at the 50th anniversary of Independence. Michael Jackson did it too in many of his shows. Here it looks like she has lip synced on this performance but I think it's doubtless that it is indeed her voice on the track. It does kill the thrill of a live performance though.

Why arent more people commenting on the fact that she was lip sync'ing?? Besides @sreechar, unless the video and sound are mismatched.. whcih i dont thik it is because its caught up just a second after song started playing.
