  • if i ever make an album i hope it's produced by david baker

  • Ha, I remember talking w/ Jonathan back around '94 about this show. I forgot how the conversation came up, but he told me that they played some show in England they wouldn't let them play live so they had people dressed as animals and nobody played instruments to the track. Finally found this clip. Hilarious!

  • Jonathan @ 3:49: we believe you.

    Still love them to bits!

  • This song is pure dopamine but the performance is terrible. They give less of a fuck than Pavement on Leno. No wonder they weren't popular.

  • I was the orange caterpillar wearing shades! There was another track recorded that was chucked cos the cameramen had no idea there was gonna be us ruining their shots haha....i remember the bloke in the gorilla suit nearly got heatstroke and me, James the octopus and the sea lion went off down to the newsagent on Charing Cross Rd to get some smokes, still dressed up.....

  • Holy crap, I remember watching this when it was originally broadcast. Rushed out and bought Boces, turned me on to alternative music in a big way.

I don't remember the name of the show (Beat?) but I think it went out around midnight on ITV presented by Gary Crowley. Filmed at the Astoria I think.

  • wow. weird version. are they singing/playing over the studio track? also, didn't Flaming Lips steal this idea 10 years later for their live show? (guys dressed up as animals on stage)

  • singer looks like a young alice cooper or like the german singer named guido horn

  • Whoah, I remember this. It was on 'The Word' on Channel 4

  • Cool!

David Baker moves like David Thomas of Pere Ubu :D
