wonderful excellent reply and feedback. great comment. yes, i agree with you, El Cordobes was one of the great saints of the ring, these are the true artists and macho men of the world, they come from spain no where else. land of bulls and brave men.

@Rico8458 There is information about his life in Google. But what I remember is that he introduced very daring and dangerous moves and passes to bullfighting. He was courageous and he was an artist of the ring... he did not seem to be affraid of the bulls. He had a style of his own. And of course, the public loved him... they were getting their money's worth every time they went to see EL CORDOBES risk his life!!!

dupree, tell us more about him. i know he was great

Dalida : demain et dans mille ans , je reviendrai !

I think that MANUEL BENÍTEZ, EL CORDOBÉS, was crazy to take the chances he took with those huge bulls. No wonder he made a name for himself!!....changed bullfighting, and made a lot of money in the process.

She had no idea of how proud the Hispanics of the world were (and still are ) every time she sang for us in Spanish. In my opinion this is one of her best songs of any language. The lyrics are very strong to depict the brave and daring bullfughter that she sings about. DALIDA sings in perfect Spanish.
Thanks for sharing this Lesainsois.

Clarification, this version is in French, but she recorded it in Spanish. Both versions are beautiful.
El Cordobés that she sings about is still alive. He is MANUEL BENITEZ and he is close to 75 years of age as he is the same age as DALIDA. SHe would have been 75 this year.
BENITEZ´s son is a bullfuighter too and is still in the business.
