  • Nosaj thing is some of the most intense mushroom music I've ever heard. A friend of mine played me some stuff last night. What's the name of that track with looooads of sidechaining, I can't find it.

  • @ToliveAnimations define "sidechaining"

  • @newwave808 sidechaining is a production technique in which a compressor's effect on one audio track is triggered or controlled by another audio source. Many producers will compress a bass and sidechain the kick so the compressor lowers the volume of the bass every time the kick hits to ensure the bass frequencies don't clash. Lots of hip hop producers use this technique, it can also be heard alot in big sounding techno.

  • @platinumdynamite Thanks, the one I was looking for was 1685/bach though. Both good songs though.

  • @ToliveAnimations Coat Of Arms

  • smokin in parks after dark, its outrages, why i got smoke by the bums and the mages, long ass white beards. dude scizzors are 99 cents, rather get ur ass bent, than work for a dent in yo pocket, you got doubts? i got doubts too, nonsense

  • @newwave808 Sending a MIDI (or even audio) signal, for example a kickdrum, through (in this case) a compressor, telling it to pull the overall volume down everytime there is a kick/MIDI note.

It allows you to place multiple instruments in the same frequency range without them interferring, it also creates a really strong pumping effect.

Nosaj Thing uses Side Chaining in all his songs, but maybe you mean Coat of Arms? There you can really hear it around 0:45

  • @newwave808 do you know what sidechaining is?

  • that's what I like to fucking see. A video with NO dislikes.... now someone will be an ass to dislike it, and if you read this and do that... FUCK you, this music is Godly.

  • @newwave808 hey man, i've found the song now, it's 1685/bach. Side chaining is when the sound fades in from no volume to full repetitively, or something along those lines.
