You heard of the NDAA, right?

The USA is a corporate fascist state. It is very similar to Italy under Mussolini. Ther is a great book called Three New Deals: Reflections on Roosevelt's America, Mussolini's Italy and Hitlers Germany. Great video by the way. "We must have enemies, they will be become an economic necessity for us" Theodore Roosevelt -1944

There is an illusion of democracy..presidents are selected not elected. Open your eyes bud..
-
@stevenodd Likely, that person is incapable of such a thing.

i like beating up kids
-
@igotsissues Constitutional Republic, we have a "democratic" process.
-
@mta415 The two are not mutually exclusive. We are a democratic republic.
-
we are not a Democracy, we are a Republic. But I know what you meant...

Or succinctly put..... If you think you're free, there's no escape possible. ~Ram Dass

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. - Janis Joplin

@ludaXkillz Great. So my money going to people who can't afford to have there own kids so they can pepper the country side with their own genetic stock sounds like the system works.
We kinda went of on a tangent here, the end fact is living in most democracies is more comfortable then living in Cuba. It really is a shitty place to live.
-
@deathByStupid They don't remove children from parents who can't provide, they aid parents who can't provide. Thus, welfare was born

dammit. I thought my phone went off.

Sorry to burst your bubble, because I completely agree with you, but Cuba is not doing so well by being closed off. Sure everyone has food, but not a lot of it, and most Cubans are malnurished. And yes, there is universal healthcare, but there isn't any medicine to use to treat people. And of course, their unemployment rate is low, but nobody does much even while they're at their jobs anyway. I've been to Cuba, and it's not pretty. Regardless, you're right. It's just not a great example.

@ludaXkillz The duty of governments is to legislate laws and to enforce existing laws. In addition things like infrastructure are required so that everything keeps moving.
Governments protect childrens rights by removing them from parents who can't provide for them. Should they put everyone in position to look after their family of four? Thats absolutely not their responsibility, any government would prefer if people who couldnt afford their kids, didn't have them.

Finalizing - Most Americans have no idea, have forgotten, that they live in a Republic. It's always spoken about as a Democracy and there is a huge difference. To the point - America is no longer and never referred to as a Republic. To the best of my knowledge it is no longer taught in the schools; as Civics is no longer taught in school. They want us to believe we live in a Democracy, because everyone has been convinced it's so great. When it's a lie. Isn't that the point, here?
-
Do my homework? They are separate words, because they are separate things. It is The Republic of The United States of America, not The Democracy of The United States of America.
I understand - all too well, what he is saying and what America is exporting. That was my point. They are not exporting Republicanism, they are exporting Democracy; where 51% can vote to murder 49%. In a multi-party Parliamentary system, the % required is even less, all because they are 'Democracies".
-
@SuspiciousPatriot First of all Republic & Democracy are not mutually exclusive. Secondly America's spoken goal in invading Afghanistan and Iraq is to install a democracy & that's what he's talking about. Do your homework.
-
America is not a democracy.
America is a Republic.
...BIG DIFFERENCE
America has forgotten what it is.
America has been "made" to forget what it is.
-
Cuba is not a great place to live. But it's not nearly as bad as "they" make it seem.
-
help speard this arownd

Cubans must be even dumber than hillbillies if they're risking their lives by boatloads to escape to the U.S. if all these stats are to be taken at face value.
I have a close friend that grew up in a military regieme political system that agrees that democracy isn't the only answer, but at the same time, you have to look at the desireability of a country by its occupants.
Once Floridians are fleeing to Cuba by the boatload looking for a better life I'll admit you might be onto something.
-
It's called Corporatocracy... and it scares the shit out of me.
-
Good video! I agree with some of the things you said and disagree with others. The time I have only allows me to talk quickly about you unemployment data. Eventhough Cuba may have a much lower rate of unemployment, it is not necessarily better. In communist countries you are assigned a job and you must stay in it. In "free countries" workers can change jobs. This is counted as unemployment. Also, this type of mobility improves the allocation of human capital!
Sorry for not expanding on this! :D

Welcome to the Corporate States of Amerikkka. Your experience here is directly relative to the amount of money you have and your skin color.
@FeDe4 He never claimed Cuba was perfect. It's just supposed to make you think.

@sdkee
"Creating Jobs" is the biggest economic fallacy out there. Think: in your household, do you want to find ways to have more people do kitchen clean up or less? Why?
The entire history of human achievement is people finding better ways to do more work with less effort. The real goal is to maximize the payment-to-work ratio. And ideally, you'd work zero and consume whatever you want.
So why is the focus in "job creation" instead of "median income buying power"?
